New 3G iPhone to hit South Africa on 20 July?
So the new iPhone hits the shelves in South Africa this July? Well rumour on the blogosphere has it that the magical date for this beauties arrival on our shores is sooner than you think. (Sunday?) 20 July 2008! According to blogger Toby Shapshak, the device is expected to be available in South Africa as early as 20 July 2008. Vodacoms official “sometime later this year” statement does indeed sound sooner than later.
Earlier, Steve Jobs officially announced the new iPhone, with the following round up of features to boot:
- 3G enabled of course! with the option to switch the 3G off to save on battery juice.
- Tri-band 3G
- A-GPS
- Flush headphone Jacks
- Geo tagging of photos from the camera
- The plastic curvy back has replaced the aluminium finish
- Longer battery life
- Available across 70 countries sometime later this year…
